Chronic Ischemic Neuropathy after Chronic Peripheral Occlusive Arterial Disease

Ryu Ki-Hyung
Abstract
A 68-year-old man visited in our laboratory for electrodiagnostic examination. He had suffered from left low leg pain, claudication, paresthesia and burning sense for six years. Physical examination showed a loss of pulsation in the left posterior tibial and pes dorsalis artery and decrease strength of pulsation in the left femoral artery. Electrodiagnostic examinations revealed lumbosacral polyneuropathy of both lower extremity. Angiography revealed occlusion of left common iliac artery and right femoral artery.
We report a rare case of ischemic peripheral neuropathy of both lower extremities as a result of chronic peripheral occlusive arterial disease.
